Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day – Oct. 6th, 2012

Our first official event was held October 6th at the Tippecanoe County Amphitheater. We had great weather and a good turnout. Thank you to IMBA, Virtuous Cycles and Hodson’s Bay for helping us out with this event.

Good 2 Great Report

Bicycle Lafayette has been given the go ahead to start working on part 2 of the Community of Choice “Good 2 Great” plan. The text only version of part 2 can be found here on Facebook or here. We’ll need a lot of help to get them done. Let us know if you are interested in helping out. Go here to get to the full report.

Murdock Park Trail Maintenance Day – Oct. 28th, 2012

The Tippecanoe Mountain Bike Association held a trail maintenance day at Murdock Park. With the help of 8-10 people, we got almost everything we wanted to get done finished in about 2 hours.

What’s coming up?

Main Street Family Mash – November 10th, 2012

Join Bicycle Lafayette on a friendly ride down Main Street Lafayette.
The only thing more fun than riding your bike, is riding your bike with someone else!
Where to Meet: Meet the Bicycle Lafayette riders at the fountain on the West Side of the John T Myers Pedestrian Bridge at 11:00am.

The Route: We’ll be riding across the bridge and down Main Street to the beautiful box at 11th street. Then we’ll turn and head back home. Just a short ride to wind up the season and introduce our fair town to our little group!

What To Bring: A bicycle, some warm clothes, a snack or a drink, and a helmet (strongly recommended)

Parking: The Riverside Park offers some two hour parking that should be more than plenty of time to enjoy the ride.

After the ride, stop by the Riverside Skating Center for the Midwest Bike Polo Tournament. If you have never experienced Bike Polo before, you have been missing out!

It’s going to be a fun day for the whole family. We are hoping to get the Lafayette Police department to escort our little ride up Main Street. If not, don’t worry, our experienced cyclists will take great care and make sure everyone is familiar with the rules of the road.

Cranksgiving/Ride Away Hunger – November 17th, 2012

We’re partnering with Food Finders for this event. We’ll be meeting at a grocery store, buying food, and delivering that food, by bicycle, to Food Finders. Keep an eye on the website, BicycleLafayette.Org, or our Facebook page for updated details on this event.

Trail Maintenance Day – November 18th, 2012

Keep an eye on the website calendar for location and time or ask to join the TMBA Facebook page to keep up to date with events and group rides.

Hope to see you out on your bike!
